Geosoft has announced the availability of its 2013 Software Release, with updates for Oasis montaj, Target, GM-SYS, VOXI Earth Modelling and Geosoft DAP. The 2013 release includes significant advances in 3D visualization that make subsurface modelling faster and more effective for resource explorers and earth scientists.

Geosoft will present new workflows for geological subsurface modelling at PDAC 2013, March 3-6 in Toronto. The workflows include 3D wireframing and editing tools that make the modelling of subsurface geology faster and more effective for mineral explorers. Presentations will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday to Tuesday at Geosoft Booth 931.

Ian Macleod, Geosoft Chief Technologist, will provide an introduction to geophysics at the PDAC short course "Geophysics for Everyone", being run by KEGS on Wednesday, March 6th. Industry experts will cover the fundamental geophysical methods for mineral exploration, including magnetics, gravity, electromagnetics and IP. Participants of this one-day course will gain understanding of how geologic information can be extracted from geophysical data through data enhancement and interpretation.

Alhambra Resources Ltd. reported progress on the Dombraly-Shirotnaia gold trend. During the processing of the gravity and magnetic data, Geosoft databases and grids were calculated and used to sketch magnetic and gravity lineaments, anomalies for further interpretation and target generation. Using the lineament intersections and magnetite destruction patterns as the major criteria, 60 targets were picked up, and 18 were categorized as primary exploration targets.
