Government SponsoredUXO Software

UX-Process and UX-Analyze are U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) UXO software solutions developed by Geosoft for the US Army Corps of Engineers (Huntsville Center), with funding support from the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP). They extend the functionality of Geosoft Oasis montaj and UX-Detect, providing a complete solution for UXO investigation.

A complete processing solution for UXO projects

UX-Process was developed for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and other regulatory government organizations responsible for delivering quality geophysical data for UXO detection. UX-Process is used with Oasis montaj and includes a set of quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) tools that improve the utilization of field data by identifying and correcting instrument and acquisition errors.

The main capabilities of UX-Process include:

  • A standard platform for geophysical data corrections and processing.
  • Tools to standardize the QC/QA process.
  • Tools for target analysis and management.
  • Tools for survey planning and progress reporting.
  • A standard platform for algorithm sharing.

UX-Process also addresses repetitive data quality issues associated with resurveying and the resulting loss of productivity in UXO investigations. The standard tests and tools enable contractors tasked with collecting, processing and analyzing the data to be more effective in meeting Government data quality standards.

With 3 menus, and over 90 menu items, UX-Process combined with Geosoft's UX-Detect package, provides a complete processing solution for the UXO community. UX-Process was developed by Geosoft in cooperation with USACE, with funding from ESTCP and other DoD agencies.

Availability and Support

UX-Process runs in Oasis montaj and requires a special license, provided on request. Courtesy of the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and Geosoft, UX-Process is currently available to the US UXO community at no charge, along with technical support. This includes US government employees, UXO contractors and regulators working on US projects.

Geophysical Target Classification, Modelling and Analysis

UX-Analyze is a geophysical target classification, modelling and analysis system developed by SAIC and Geosoft for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) UXO detection, with funding support from ESTCP. It provides geophysicists with an easy-to-use and comprehensive UXO classification tool for both Magnetic and EM61 data. With UX-Analyze users can select target signatures of interest, invert the data and classify the results.

The UX-Analyze system contains a streamlined menu for conducting the following tasks:

  • Setting the project parameters
  • Importing the target data
  • Defining and refining anomaly footprints
  • Performing data corrections
  • Batch fitting a list of targets
  • Inspecting and refining existing targets
  • Adding new targets
  • Classifying targets
  • Managing target lists
  • Producing maps and a progress report

While helping to streamline complex tasks, the tools within UX-Analyze require knowledge of geophysics for effective use and interpretation of results.
