Error: “ECS file not found” or "Horizons not in depth order..."
Oasis montaj 7.5 SP2, 7.5 SP1, 7.5
|Last modified date:
This error is returned when I try to create a GM-SYS model from a selected database line or from current mark data in a database:
“ECS file not found”
This error is returned if I set horizons before I create the model:
"Horizons NOT in depth order at datum #1
Note that this could be from the actual data, or caused by automatic interpolation thru dummies."
GM-SYS Profile Modelling only works using a Projected coordinate system. If your database has Geographic coordinates then you need to convert them into a Projected coordinate system before creating a model from your database.
To Create Projected coordinates from the current Geographic coordinates:
Open your database.
Coordinates menu > New Project Coordinates.
The Enter Existing Coordinate Channel dialog box will open.
Select your current Geographic coordinate channels and click Next.
The Coordinate System dialog box is shown.
Confirm your current Geographic projection. The projection for the current Long, Lat coordinates can be adjusted if necessary. Click OK.
The Create New Coordinate Channel dialog box is shown.
Give a name to the two new channels that will be created (Example: X as the LONG channel; and Y as the LAT channel). Click Next.
In the Coordinate System box choose Projected (x,y) as the coordinate system, select the datum, local datum transform and projection method. Click OK.
The new channels (X and Y) in UTM coordinates will be created in your current database.
To set the new channels as current X,Y channels:
Coordinates > Set Current X,Y,Z Coordinates.
To create a GM-SYS Model from a database:
GM-SYS > New Model > From Each Selected Database Line or From Current Mark.
Set the parameters > Finish.
Geographic units (degrees) are not allowed in the current GM-SYS Profile Modelling (Oasis montaj version 7.5).
